If you get over to Flatonia, I can take a look at it for you and see if we can get it working properly. I forgot all about you over there. Let me know if I can help you out.

Replaced governor, tried adjusting according to the above post.....still no luck.
Could it be the crankshaft is messed up?
Help!!!
Deere and horse--make Flatonia regularly. May drag it over there with me and let you take a look.

texagg, did you by chance change or have the carburetor changed right before this started ? Also have you tried resetting the govenor linkage ? It may have slipped on the govenor shaft.

Not all carbs have the ear in the right position on the throttle shaft, some are opposite. If you use a carb with a backwards ear on the throttle butterfly shaft the govenor will work backwards and all out of wack. I have had to change the position of the ear on the throttle shaft on two or three carbs over the years.

there are some different set ups on the Suburbans. On the older air vanes it was easy to get the linkage flipped the wrong way over center. this causes the engine to only have full throttle. Might be something like that has happened here. Hard to lay a finger on this problem with out some history on the motor and what's been done to it.
