Brought home 2 more gts...a J D 318 and a JD 140 H-1.  The 318 is one I used to own.  My friend bought a Kubota and sold this one back to me.  It has a 3-point hitch on it and runs good.  The 140 is a plain jane...no front hydraulic ports, no headlights...it is complete, has a 46 mower deck,  turns over fine, does not run,

The ad on craigs for the 140 said it was a 1973 hydrastsat, but I think it is older.  the nomecleature plate is broke off, so don't know for sure how old it is.   I gave 150 bucks for it. It is complete, it ain't running, but turns over fine with the key.  and got good spark at the spark plug.  p o said it did run last year.

The 318 runs great.  Power steering on a gt is very cool.   And I can't wait to try out my 12 inch plow with the 3-point hitch!

I would guess the 140 is a '73/'74 as it is optioned like many of the later 120's except has the steering brakes of the 140 H3.  Also, those tires (if original) were not available on the earlier 140's.  Congrats!

I know, right?...forest green is not John Deere green...but the can of spray paint cost the same....maybe the po could not find jd green at the store, or he thought 'hey..this is close enough'...  it will be the correct green when I get going on it.  I have a '66 110 that is the same yuck shade of green too....
