I hope you get it. The 900 is a nice tractor

They were made from 1964-1965
The original engine was a wisconsin S-8D (8-1/4 HP) engine.

The rusty one has the original motor but no spark (I'm going to get it running next spring to mow with). The other one has a good running tra-10d in it. I have decals ordered as well as front wheels.

Does that newly painted white hood have venting fins on the top? It looks like it does :confuse:

Yes it does. My understanding is that one year had the vents in the hood and one did not. (I think 64 did and 65 did not). I could be totally wrong on that though.

Out of all the 900's I have seen, yours is the only one that was like that. I wish I knew why yours was like that.... Its definietly a Bolens hood.
Were the decals still intact before the paint job?

My 64' 900 Does not have that hood. The other 900 is unknown because it was repainted and the ID plate was gone :wallbanging:

Maybe it was a limited production thing and they changed it partway through the production run. I'm glad I ran across it. The decals were still intact when I got it. I've attached a picture.

The 900's used 2 different Decals.
I have seen around 5 900's so far with the decals you have pictured and none had the vents.

With all the changes that Bolens did during the Production of some models, It wouldn't surprise me one bit if that was an "experiment" that they ran on only a few hundred tractors.

I would keep this and never sell it. Looks like you got a rare one on your hands
