How well do these blow snow? My grandfather is considering getting one with a 1000.

Single stage ford/Jac snow auger. Somewhat crude but it seems to work.  I have one ,but have not used it.

We have the 38" single stage on our 1200 Super Chief Hydro and it works well. If you keep it in a heated garage amke sure you let it set outside to get tempered so the snow doesn't clog the chute. It doesn't throw heavy wet snow well but if you take small bite on it it will throw it.    Good luck.       aroger.

I think someone said on another thread. A single stage is a snowthrower. A two stage is a snowblower. Both do the job.

Single stage throwers seem to like a good amount of snow going through them to throw well...too little and it just spits it out the chute. I find with my MF10 single stage, I will have to speed up the ground speed to get enough snow in there to toss it good...if you get what I am saying

Yep, your right.

Sometimes the single stage thrower suxs, other times, better then the two stage blower.

Depends on a lot of things, i have both and both are Simplicity so both throw/blow good.

The cheap little single stage are a joke.

The cheap little dual stage are a wast of money.

At least i get a laugh out of the single stage
