Looking at the manual and over the net regarding changing the main input (drive shaft) needle and ball bearing it seems the output shaft gear (side) has to be pulled out of the way first before removal of the input gear and shaft.

Just in case the gears are worn badly is there anyone out there with good BGB gears they might be willing to sell if needed ?

Boston Gear used to be able to supply most gear sizes. I've still got a 25 year old catalog but don't know if they are in business anymore. There is the sponsors here and if necessary the sponsors at www.simpletractors.com . Sandy Lake has been mentioned many times for parts.

Was Kahn Tractor able to help with your Ford? Good Luck, Rick

I found them http://www.bostongear.com/

In very good shape inside with a few spots of rust but hit it with engine degreaser and a thorough rinsing with Joy it is drying now.

With ethanol in gas the little spots of rust will grow very quickly so lining the tank after completely dry.
