i was just reading another post from buzz on the g10 and g12, is it true if it doesnt roll easy that the trans is bad? b ecause the 800 will roll easy then stop alittle then start going again, i couldnt tell if it was just slipping in the snow or what.....

No, that was just a joke :D

When you push them It is common for some to roll a bit and then stop

found the clearence for the crank/rod.... we did a few times and would get anywhere between .002-.005 hope thats good

found the clearence for the crank/rod.... we did a few times and would get anywhere between .002-.005 hope thats good


The manual says a clearance of .007-.015
It may be a little tight.... Is it possible you could have made an error? Does the connecting rod have any scratches or scoring? if so then it may be an indication of the clearance being too tight.

:wallbanging: I subtracted wrong hehehehe.....I am getting 1.365in, 1.362in or so for the rod, and the crank was 1.372 lol, that would indead make it within spec, duh....:wallbanging: long day, to much excitment with getting the 900 going i guess hehehehe....

got the valves out, gave everything a real good cleaning, i will take some pics then, I noticed I have some pitting on the tappets and im not sure if there good or not. also i need a washer for the exhaust valve spring that is pitted and has some pin holes in it...that i can probably get at a hardware store. I will like i said take some pics then that way i can get some opinions....

i think photos 4 and 7 best show what i need, i wish they were a little better quality, but #4 shows the exhuast tappet which has some pretty bad pitting compared to the other one...and #7 shows a little washer between the top of the spring and the other thicker...i want to call a spacer or something.....
