thanks everyone, i have a few questions....
1. There is ice in the cylinder and it is rusty and cant be budged( whether due to ice in cylinder or rusted fast i dont know)...I put pb blaster in the cylinder and am letting it soak...is there anything else i can do?
2. Starter Gen is the same way I have taken the back plate off and a quater of it is filled with ice. I have it sitting in a drain pain in the heated breezeway, will there be anything i have to do or should do once the ice melts?
3. This tractor was sitting for 2 years or so....They left it sit because they tried replacing the voltage reg. and had to "engergize it" and it hasnt run since trying to do this....what should I look for or what happened that would make it not run?
4.The head gasket was "replaced" with some orange rtv(lol), Could this make water seep in even though the hood was shut?

Pto is good, and everything else seems to be ok but i wont know until i can get it running. Gas Tank is Metal and is 7/8th full of really REALLY bad smelling gas, one tire is low on air however the other 3 are holding very well so far.

Congratulations on your new addition!!!!! :dancingbanana:

I cant wait for some pictures!!!
As for the water in the cylinder.... If it got in the cylinder then there is a good chance the water seeped below into the crank case.... You may want to play it safe and possibly take the engine apart and see what the inside looks like...

I was wondering if i should, if its anything like the starter gen. i wouldnt be surprised, I just hope I can fix it. lol, this would be my first wisconsin engine teardown lol, souds exciting....

Is there anything I can do about the rust on the cylinder wall above the piston? its close to bdc on the intake stroke and i already have the engine removed....that was the first thing i did....Ps. They had the muffler on this thing facing straight up like a stack and it is also 1/4 to 1/2 filled with ice right into the block......

From your description so far it seems like the best thing to do is to be safe and take apart the engine to inspect it.

Depending on how badly the bore is rusted you may be able to just lightly hone out the cylinder.
