Hey CB that is a cigarette lighter, most I've seen just have a hole or a plug. I don't smoke but I could sure use the plug for my ipod dock. :D  I bought these pieces of tin today off of ebay. I know I'm missing the belt guard which is common for these. The PO said he didn't remember the guard ever being on there. It doesn't look like I'm going to pick it up this weekend, we got two GS coming over Friday & the other two Saturday. Both daughters want a date night with their hubbies. I told my wife I can't handle all four at once.   My plan for this GT is do what I want, total overhaul but my own color & what ever else I think of adding. Since these were produced in many colors my thoughts are either green like the Unico or Blue.

Here is the tin I got today.

You Don't want the arched belt guard. It's in the way when working on the pto or belt changing and such.  Best send it to ME to get out of your way.  :smilewink: :(    I Want one of those for mine! Like said, seems to be first item missing on these. That and the battery hold-down hardware under the hood/dash area.

Mine's Green, BUT NOT JD green!!  I call it the "Cucumber Clunker" and it is on here in this forum somewhere. Was thinking of MM yellows and reds, but have a few that way of other brands and enuf for now.  I think the two-tone grey like White used is kinda nice too. Red was orig and looked good on them.

I don't remember if I ever posted this picture before but I thought you might like it.  It's from a local show a few years ago.

Jim, you have any pics of that Massey in the background?  I can't tell if someone worked over a GT to look like a bigger Massey, or is that a regular Massey there?

Now that just put another log on the fire in my head. That's not a yellow or Orange, is that yours? I know red looks good on these especially with a black frame but I have a red MF. I like the green Unico....I believe Olcowhand did that one & I saw a blue one I liked somewhere. Really I think this GT complements any color. I have been reading all the MTD posts on here...as usual lots of good info.

Later, after I said "you should paint it red", I thought maybe you should paint it green, cause then you would have a red Massey, a yellow and white Cub Cadet, a blue and white Sears and a green MTD(a rainbow collection!). Just a thought.

That tractor is a creation of member Halfscale and his dad.

Here's another of the MM look and it's not mine.

I also think the MTDs look good in Columbia and White colors.

These two also belong to Halfscale and his dad.  (Not sure who specifically owns which tractors in their combined collection)

i like the yellow on that machine but i dont like the lt. brown frame & accents. i also wouldnt have put a MM decal on er. just me though.

Olcowhands paint job came out awsome. seen a few other machines with nice paint jobs of original(or close) colors.

if i ever get around to tearing mine down i thought about going Cat yellow or Chevy orange. leaning heavily towards Chevy orange since that color pops. and maybe add some flake to the paint.

those last 3 machines are 960's. all of those look pretty cool. what was the starting platform for that Massey ? Simplicity/AC ?

Was looking at the pictures of your MTD and was wondering if the console decal was originally chrome and black?

Ok, I've seen a creation thread on either that one or someone else's that was very similar on this forum.  A very eye-catching tractor, well executed.

Halfscale does nice work. I like the White Yard Boss too. I'm rather partial to grey anyway!

Not sure if your talking about mine but just in case it was silver with black trim. Here is a decal for the 960
