Hi my name is Ron and I am a rebuilaholic :-) I need some help to identify what I have got to start with. I think its a 1963 Bolens 600. What can a give you Guys that know about this area to I.D. the victim?

See you on the turf.

Welcome aboard Ron !! As Kenny said, pics will help and look for small tag with numbers in the area near foot rests. Also engine type with the numbers you find there. Goodluck!

Welcome to GTT

Pictures would help alot in identification.

If its still intact, the ID plate will be to the right of the shift lever (When standing from behind the tractor)

Welcome to GTT. You can download the manual from our Manuals Section, 3 free per day. Try these sales brochures to help identify it. http://gardentractor...s-600-sales-ad/   http://gardentractor...olens-brochure/    http://gardentractor...48-bolens-1962/

After you identify it, search through the Bolens Manuals to download what you want.tomorrow. Good Luck, Rick

It should be fairly easy to identify if you have the entire tractor.

It will look very similar to the 800 in this pic,  but will be shorter.

100_1303.JPG

Note that the 600 and 800 are the only two 'round hoods' with the 'tractor style' fenders. The 900 and 1000 have large single piece seat/fender pans.

The 600 will NOT have the push/pull/turn lever that you can see partially hiding the amp meter in this  pic.

That's for changing from Hi to Low range on the 800. With the 600, you have to manually move the belt to get Hi and Lo range.

What you have there is a 1962 Bolens 600

The Model 180-01 did not come with electric start as that was an option back then.

Looks like a nice complete machine and you even have the Hood Ornament with is hard to find.

Here's a picture of what your tractor should look like. (Of course the hubcaps were optional) :D
