Are you going to build an engine for pulling?First thing I would do is check your rule book to see what engine mods are allowed,
you can put the biggest badest cam in a stock engine and it will probably be a lazy dog.Now if your allowed porting, differant valves & springs,a boost in compression ratio, larger carb or carb modifcations and how fast you want to spin the engine, then it's a whole differant story.
What I'am getting at here is it's all gotta work together as a package.
I would think there would be a cam for a stock motor that would give you tad more hp.Some of the kohler guys here can probably set you up with a cam grinder. Sorry I wish I could help.

Call a grinder and tell them what's been done to the engine what rpm it going to run at even what the class is and they will tell you what one of their cams will work best for your motor. I've hads good success with Vogel regrind cams in stock class but there are others.

As I have told you in previuos posts go to Kirk kohler engines and read the 10hp kohler build. He walks you through the whole process of getting the most out of a 10hp kohler. I have done it and talk about waking up a 10hp.
