Its a White garden tractor 1855. They also had them with yardman back in the early 90's I believe it was the 999? series.

The White tractor you spoke of is made by MTD.  Yes it is a 900 series.

It is a 990 series MTD. I would guess this model to be a 995 or 998,later versions of the earlier 990 model tractors. The loader is a Kwik way. They were factory offered for these tractors and I believe that if you go to Kwik way's website, that they still offer loaders for these models.

I have the same tractor, only it's gold and is branded a Dayton--sold at one time by W.W. Grainger.  Nice machine but the steering sector gear has small teeth that wear out quickly and skip when you turn it hard... One of these days I'll convert mine over to an automotive type gear box like the CCs or John Deere's use.

Another 'brand' I have seen that model badged with is 'Agway'.

I believe they were also badged as a "Statesman"

I wonder what they did to beef up the front axle, if anything.  The axles are 1" dia., but the wheels just have a plastic bushing in them instead of roller bearings.  Also, the front axle is just fabricated from steel and the frame isn't really reinforced in that area either...
