Got the machine a few years ago for my dad, the rear end has been replaced with a newer one. he used it to cut the grass and till for about a year then the engine started to smoke badly.  has not run in about a year but should start rite up, the coil is no good so we used an old chevy coil to keep it running. comes with a mower deck that seems to be in good cond no major rot or holes, the blades are stuck in position but I think it is the belt just stuck in place, I have never used this deck so I do not know anything about it other than what I see, someone welded an extra wheel on the side. basically a good tractor just needs some tlc. I should still have the air cleaner assy I will look for it.  I am trying to free up some cash for the other tractors.  has a 23d briggs engine wich is imposible to get parts for, located in petersburgh ny, asking $250 but will dicker.  call me 518-686-5640

The Briggs 23Domestic is 9 hp, this must be the B-10 early.

yeah it is a pretty early b-10, If I cannot find a buyer for it I am going to cut it up and make a modified gt, I have a 4cyl air cooled vw engine here that I think would be bad %#@!*& on there.

Heck no!  Don't cut it up!  The 23 is not too bad of an engine for parts, I've got some things and I know where to get the rest.

:ditto:  the 23D is a very, very good engine, it is rebuildable for another 30 years if done right.

The B-10 earlies are not as plentiful as the regular B-10s with the Briggs 24 engine.

That sounds like a cool project. I don't know if the bevel gearbox would be able to handle that much power though.

I don't know, but I may try it.  If I do it I am going to put much smaller and wider wheel's on it so it sets lower to the ground and does not require as much power to spin the wheels,  burn out machine!!!!!!!!!!!
