here in the great white north of Michigan. I just got done plowing and blowing qbout 6" of snow from last night. Started at 8:00 this am with 8* and finished at 12:30.  By the time I had finished it was 22*. Now 35*. They say we may see 49* on Thursday with some mix of rain and snow. This may mean that spring is on the way??? !!!! ( Ya right).  SUre is theraputic to see the sunny skies and feel the warmth of the sun comming thru the windows and door. Makes me want to get started on the small project of making a sleeve hitch for my Homelite and my BILs Simplicity. I have a SH rake, back blade and one bottom plow and the only SH I have is on the Sears Custom 10 XL.  I need to get some gas for the wire welder so I think I will weld it up with my buzz box.  Need to move the gas cans from the garage before I start that project. I kick myself now because I passed up some used welding blankets that I saw at a garage sale a couple of years ago. May take some money from a sale and get a couple at least.   Hope the sun is shining where you are and it's starting to give you spring fever worse than what you have it now.   Stay warm and stay safe.     Roger.

It does feel amazing!!  The weather man this morning was saying the last time we hit 35 was back when we had that first (and only) thaw in early January.  I cannot recall a winter this cold...the cold doesn't bother me much, but it sure puts a halt on projects.  Last week it warmed enough to stay above 0 degrees 6 of 7 days, and that was encouragement enough to knock out the power steering project.  I'm hoping to get a long enough break from snow to tear apar the blower tractor and install auxillary hydraulics on that this week.  We shall see...not off to a great start.  I need to blow snow, then I'll be raking the roof again tonite, but in fewer layers of clothing, and my beer won't turn to slush while I drink it   :dancingbanana:

We hit a whopping 43 here today, and just like JD said, we are to expect heavy snow and blizzard like conditions.  Towns around here are having water main breaks regularly, sometimes up to 3 a week, since the frost is pushing 5 or more feet down.  I expect spring by maybe May...and it'll be sloppy one at that unfortunately.   :(

When I came in last night, the thermometer on the front porch showed 79.9°F. The sun was shining on it.

I hope that those that farm for aliving will be able to get into their fields to plow and plant when they need to. With winters like this that might linger may make planting later than they would like to.  Good luck to all you that farm.    Stay warm Stay Safe.      Roger.
