I agree with SuperSpeedex, you can get those JD 318's for under $2000, they are really stout and have hydraulic lift and power steering.

Although the deck might be around 48 or 50".

It's going to be hard to find a garden tractor with power steering and a 42" cut.

I agree but I was just making power steering as a suggestion he doesn't actually need it but it's nice. Power lift would be necessary for him if he gets a tractor with a snowblower. He is so picky because there is already around forty five gts on his property but he wouldn't use them because he doesn't want to mess them up which is understandable but they were bulit heavy.

That is a very nice tractor, but it is way beyond his budget and appears to have manual lift for the implements.
