This all reminds me of the quote by Reverend Robert Schiller,

"Tough times don't last, tough people do!"

Smitty

Ya, I'm lasting, I spent 18 months in a 3/4 halo- they told me I would never walk again, but I walked out of there by the grace of God and lots of help from the wife and rehab. She says I am too stubborn to even think the word quit, I like to think of it as being "fiercely independent". They still said I would never work- now that I've spent tens years running the farm and working a day job I guess I can say they were wrong… but I’m telling you this winter is wearing me down to the point that I’m so grouchy I find myself using “those words” that momma used to have soap for, a lot !!

Boy Scouts motto "Be Prepared"

U.S.N. at least when I was there-- Paratus Et Potens = "Ready and Able"

We all know the U.S. Marines "Semper Fidelis"  usually shortened to "Semper Fi"

I admit my ignorance, I don't know the Air Force, Army, or Coast Guard...anybody?

The Coast Guard is "Semper Paratus"-- Always prepared...

I am a little late with a response but great stories. I like stories like that. I have had them too but not as tough. Noel
