The winter weather hit work at 1pm. The front came from the south, I live 40 miles to the south from where I work. At work the first snow flakes were seen at 1pm, by 1:20pm there was an inch on the ground. My only two ways out of the city to home required going up the hill. Well everyone else was trying to go home too. It took me 1 hour to make it 10 miles, everyone was spinning out on the hills. After I made it up the hill it was OK driving, nerve racking but ok. The rest of the drive was pretty uneventfull. II was in 4 high the whole way. The further south I went the worse it got, by the time I got home there was about 4-5 inches on the ground.

So everybody being hit by this, stay safe!

PS. They still havent delivered my propane yet.

Glad you made it home. Can't imagine driving around down south where no one is used to the white stuff. Be safe.

I would say you did just fine!!  I have had a few of those 2 hrs 40 mile commutes this winter.

You are going when the Brown Busses are not. Just before I opened this thread I got an email listing all the zip codes in NC where UPS was not running.

I guess I would just have to be there. I drive through 3-6" of unplowed highways from about nov-mar most yrs. My daily trip is about 50mls.  Not sure we would even notice a 1" snow.

Thats the big difference, we only get this about 1-2 days every couple of years. Nobody down here even know what snow tires are.
