At the place that I work they have a John Deere 262 with a 36' snow blower attached to it. It also has a canvas and plastic cab. It has been sitting in the same spot (indoors but not a heated area) and has not been run for a least 5 years and now they have decided to auction it off. Does anyone have any idea what it might be worth? It has a K series Kohler 17 hp engine with Electronic ignition. the production number is just a guess because it was too scratched up to read clearly.

The  # might be 10G282X037743* maybe.   I am thinking about bidding on it plus a Sears Industrial Bandsaw  and a bench grinder for sharpening tools for the lathe.

Any help on pricing the JD would be appreciated. :D

Have a look here. http://www.tractorda...eere-gt262.html

It says it is a Kawi 17HP. It's a fairly new tractor according to the data at the link. It won't give you prices but will give you a good description.

The blower will be a 38" or a 42". Either one is worth $400 if it works and has all its parts. The 42" might be worth a bit more in good condition. A 262 in good operating condition with a deck is worth $1,000 any day of the week here. The cab is worth $300 around here at the start of winter.

I had the hood open and looked right at the motor it is a Kohler 17hp  vertical shaft engine I believe it is a twin cylinder. I will double check tomorrow. I can't take pics of it because we are not allowed to have a camera in the plant. As far as that goes I am not even supposed to have my cel phone in there either.

It must be a 38 inch I didn't have a tape measure with me so used a piece of wire that was nearby to get a width to take back to the shop and measure.

Aas far as bidding goes I wasn't thinking of going much higher than 375 because I don't know if it still runs and don't think there are to many more people than me interested in it because it has sat so long.

It doesn't have a deck. I think they bought it new without a deck but with the blower and cab on it.

It's certainly worth 375 with a blower and cab even if it doesn't run. assuming it was running when parked it should be relatively easy to get it going again given that it was stored inside.
