Hello everyone. I have a question about a Huskee 50" GT drive belt question. I got this mower from a person that had just put a drive belt on it. Obviously, it would have been better if they would have left it alone and saved some headache.

The model number is 14AV807P131. I will post a picture below of the way the spring is currently. Odviously, it is wrong. And i think there may be a spring missing. If anyone here has a picture of one or can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. i also have looked on line at mtdparts.com. I shows a picture of a spring but it is not very clear about where it goes. Any help would be appreciated. I will also post the pic from mtdparts. Thanks.

The belt is routed wrong. the belt is on the wrong side of the tension pulley.

Its very hard to see, can you maybe take more pictures . Did you check to see if the guy put the right belts on.                                              MTD 954-0467A lower 90.8" long,      MTD 954-0468  upper 41.5" long

I was thinking that too. But when i looked at on the mtdparts site, that is the way they show it.

I did make some progress on it. The spring in the picture at the front was in the wrong place.

Yeah. I checked with the guy. He still happen to have the sleeve it came in. he read it to me over the phone and he had the right part number. The 954-0467.

I don't think it is perfect yet, but it is much better. I think now the issue is, is there a spring that goes from the tension pulley over to the frame? or is there a stop bolt type thing? Because the tension pulley is now coming over so far that there is a lot of slack in it, and sometimes it is slapping around making noise. It could be possible it just needs to be run some and get the belt a little wear. I know sometimes a new stiff belt will do some silly stuff.

Can you take a few pictures from different both sides?  That may help to see more of the framework of the tractor.
