Hello,

I need some help figuring out what exactly is wrong/missing from my belt changer.  It looks like it was broken at one point and somebody 'rigged' it with another spring in order to make it work again.  The end result is a rough, jerky feeling to the whole mechanism.  So, i was hoping that someone could take a picture of theirs on a 900 tractor so that I can compare? Here are some pictures of what I am working with:

Thanks in advance guys. I have one more question: I'm in the process of replacing my belts,(1 drive belt still on the way) and they are too big.  I'm pretty sure I bought the right belts because I did it by part number from an old parts manual I found, 34 inch belt for the drive and 42 I think for the pto. Both of them are too loose and slip under any load.  I cant find any way to adjust the belts so any ideas? maybe my motor mounts are worn out?

Thanks,

Brad

Welcome to GTT

I only have one picture on hand hope this helps, I'm also attaching a video

That belt looks to be the wrong size as its riding way too deep in that sheave.

The problem is your springs are attached in the wrong places.....

Hello. Thanks for the quick reply. That sucks about the belts, I will definitely look into that now and getting the right ones.  As for the belt changer, should this piece be attached to something? it seems weird that it just rubs up against the shaft when you go to change between high and low.

That piece of metal is the part that turns the lever back and forth, it normally rests against the shaft at all times, once you get the springs in order that should fix that problem.
