Titus, after conversing with Jack, I took another look at the pictures, I have seen another model that had some of the same attributes as yours. This other tractor was in the same 2700's and about 40-50 numbers below yours. HIs too had JBI and JBII parts. Note your left hand box has only 2 handles not 3 like the typical JBII. Also note the front of your tractor has a place that looks like for one grill protector not two. This tractor was set up the same way. Again 1 protector is typical of a JBI. The 5 bolt hubs are typical of the JBII. I would be real curious to your parking brake set up- the pictures do not show it, but I suspect it is like a JBI with the parking brake pull knob on the left side by your leg. Not sure about the front axles set up- I think it is the JBII set up but not 100% sure. Maybe Brian can confirm it either way.

This other tractor too had the scratches/cleaning up area around the serial number. So your previous owner did not do this, I think BH did this. Maybe they took a JBI and changed it to a JBII to fill an order??? This differences, to me, make your tractor that much more interesting. Congrats on a nice find!

Scott, I believe your right on the ID tag. If you enlarge Pete's tag, you can just make out most of the "J" in black print that they didn't remove, and if you look at my tag, it's the same tag.

Both of my grills only have one protector.

The front axle looks to be set back as my JB II is and not out front like my JB I

Do you know which one goes with which serial number of the tractor?

And the flash made it harder to read the numbers. Ill post the numbers shortly. The only clear one I can read is off this JB II from this thread.

Peter, To get mine to take a good photo that I could read, I had to use a light and NO flash on my phone. The reason I ask about these is to try to date the tractor by Hydro serial number only since I have that JB II with no ID tag on it.

BTW, do you have 3 hydro BH's?

Well I'm glad I tarped it before the snow, we were supposed to get a dusting to an inch. Ended up getting 3-6 inches, and tomorrow 6-10! She's still on the trailer, strapped down and tarped until the thaw.

You can just leave it on the trailer, this way I can just hook it up and drive home. :D

That snow caught us all off guard! I was the only person at work last night and when I got home I plowed and shoveled till 2AM.

Bush Hog made some seriously sturdy tractors, but I have to say IMHO the Javelina/JB I/JB II "have a face only a mother could love".

Hey Peter, did you ever get the chance to get those Hydro numbers yet? Can you post what tractor serial number goes with each Hydro number?

You happen to pick up my wheel horse yet? ;)

No, too much snow and too darn cold. That metal shed that housed my hogs decided it has had enough and caved in this winter, one of the rears is in that.

Not yet, but am staying in contact with him and should be going up there soon.

Sorry to hear about the shed, I hope the Hogs are OK!!
