I came across this on CL and it looks like a nice original tractor. I think the price is way too high though, I think it would be worth about half the asking price.

It would bring $500 in my area.
This one looks like it wasn't beat up and more than likely had decent care. Deck looks like it is in good shape.

Depends if the engine turns over has compression.

I know guys that only want the 'nice originals', and have paid that and more for similar machines.  That being said, those guys are rarer than the tractors, so a "I want to sell this" price would be more like $400.  Simplicity/AC collectors in general value the variables a bit less than hydro's and 3 speeds, and yes, but the AC name helps.

The ad does not mention whether or not it runs....'Barn Fresh' usually means "I have not taken the time to get it running, and want you to assume any risk that it won't".  If it won't start and drive onto the trailer, cut that $400 price tag in half.

I concur.  The buyer always wants way more than its worth...but I would want a good price for my stuff too I guess, so can't blame the guy.  I got a nice B-10 with a snow blade, chains and rear weights for 150.  all I had to do was put in a new battery, clean the points, and put in a new plug and she took right off.    The pics shows it sitting by a pile of 'stuff', and I wonder what goodies might be there also.  Might be worth at least checking out.  You can always walk away.
