Everything old is new again. I wonder if there really are any truly original ideas left when it comes to mechanical aids? Seems there is a predecessor to everything.

I was amazed at some of of the items in the 1937-38 PM that I thought just came out in the last 30 or 40 years.

 

Remote control airplanes were in a 1938 issue.

 

Cigarettes also make a great Christmas gift and there are ideas on how to make some great glow in the dark paint using barium.
