I'd be tempted if it was closer or I had some GT money.

Cat, I believe those also have a 2 Sp. rear end in them. Very nice and capable tractors for sure!

Not a common model/brand around here. That's a pretty hefty price.

Not a common model/brand around here. That's a pretty hefty price.

They don't come up for sale too often around here, either. Aside from a mower deck and the snowblowers, (single or dual stage) attachments are hard to find also. Along with the 2 speed rear, and depending on the year built and the options ordered, you can also find steering brakes, diff lock, a second spool of hydraulics, a cat 0 three point, and a rear pto. The rear pto is very confusing, most used a engine rpm pto, but the Deutz has a 2000 rpm rear pto offered.

It is a Simplicity Sunstar that was badged and sold at Deutz dealers. You can also find the same thing badged as a Massey, Agco Allis, and the Deutz Allis. The Deutz and Massey badged units are the hardest to find around here. The Massey may even be more difficult to find, considering they dropped out of these for a while and was supplied by Ingersoll for a while.

They are a lot of GT and rare enough a good one could command that price.  There used to be a real good Allis dealership in Kilduff, Ia about 15 miles S.E. of Newton and he sold a lot of Allis Tractors and GT's in the area.  My neighbor was a cousin to the dealer and always had the newest model Allis on his farm, His wife mowed the country church lawn and cemetary next door to me and she never had a GT over a year old.. In my opinion they were the best mowing GT made.

Steering brakes, no diff lock, no rear hitch or pto, just the deck included, single circuit of hydraulics, (no second lever for hydraulic chute or 4 way plow) 808 hours on a functioning hour meter.

The seller states the 60" has 3 blades that all turn the same direction. I thought all the Sunstar 60" decks had a counter-rotating third blade by the discharge. Were the early ones not that way?

Hey, new guy! Shamrockjack!!!!!!! Need some clarification here, please.

They did not have a differential lock, but there is a lot of advertising out there featuring the limited slip differential on these models.

I hooked OCH up with a non-running Simplicity version a while back... he had it running like a champ within hours if I'm not mistaken. I picked up a skeleton of a 1918 not long after that. The rear ends are in the 1920's are the same as JD 4xx series and the 1918's are same as the JD3xx series if I'm not mistaken. Very heavy built units.

I would say that mower is basically the equivalent to a JD420 but without the aftermarket support.

That is sad, these are very heavy duty garden tractors, now that Briggs owns the Simplicity line were does all the Dutz Allis tractors stand ?

Any aftermarket parts at all for any of Dutz Allis line ?

Some parts are still available through Simplicity dealers, but the supply is dwindling.

There hasn't been a 'Deutz' branded gt since the early or mid nineties. It was replaced by an 'Agco' branded unit. Which is also no longer sold.

I believe that 2 sp rear end is now under Daniel's Hogzilla and getting a real workout with no issues at all. I plowed with it and that rear end handled all the strain of that hard clay.

Thanks for that was wondering.

Was always warned regarding working on the Dutz Allis GT regarding parts avalibility so stayed away from them.

I heard about the conglomerate Agco in the late 90's, was a big deal for the Allis Chalmers guys.
