Anybody ever heard of a Head weight used on Tecumseh HH100 engines in JD Patio GTs?

Yes, heard of them a while back. They are a rare item & likely bring several dollars. Why I do not know.

What is there purpose? smooth out engine vibrations?

Maybe to keep piston from going so high in air when rod breaks?

I had a 70-112 parts tractor that had the head weight at one time. It was my understanding that the weight was an "anti-vibration" weight. ~~ grnspot110

Yes it was a anti-vibration weight used on the jd tractors.I have a couple of them.
