A friend of mine called today and was asking if I would help him look for a "Snow Canon" for his Gravely walk-behind.

I do not know the model he has, and he is supposed to let me know what it is, but my guess most of the Gravely attachments are inter-changable.

Thanks for your help!

The 'snow cannon' is the older style, but not the one that is open sided. That's the dogeater.

Snow cannon: (note the large diameter chute)

This is a dog eater:

Snow cannons come in 28, 34, or 44 inch widths. What size to use depends on his horsepower.

Most attachments are interchangeable between tractors.  There are really two eras, the L series and the Kohler series.  The difference is the PTO clutch setup.

They should interchange. Some of the newer models had a "fast hitch" The machine has a Unicorn horn on the front and the implement has a big hole for the horn to go through. Those dont interchange with the standard 4 bolt attaching system.

That Gravely Professional is one beautiful beast.

My snow blower uses the qwick hitch It is only 28 inches wide but what a job it does. I use it on my 5260 8 he kohler.

All of the attachments interchange except for the quick hitch on the Professional series as mentioned. That is part of the reason the 5000 series are so popular. They were made before OSHA stepped in and required all of the safety interlocks. The 5000s and before just had signs that told you not to put your hands into the blades, had the bigger Kohler engines, and could use all of the old attachments.
