At lunch I got an pop up or something saying my Android device had been infected. I closed out everything I had open and launched the Google Plat store, found a Anti-virus app, downloaded it and did a full scan. Nothing showed in the scan, but do I really need that on my phone?

I'm not sure, heck I didn't even know smart phones could get viruses like a computer. I still have a non-smart phone lol.

Lots of devices and their apps keep popping up with reasons you should look at their product. I find that alot on my Amazon bought Kindle. They think I need to download lots of thier library just to run right. Once you start getting apps, the barage never stops with ads for even more.  No smart phone here yet, but guess they are just small computers, maybe they will need such program. Wasn't aware of the scanning item you mention either. Course, I'm 5yrs behind on gadgets most time. Just Say, "Thanks for the Help G.L."! :smilewink:

I have heard that smart phones can get viruses.  Usually those pop-ups are either ads or actual malware though.  Either way, avoid them like the Plague!

Any type of computing device can get a virus or Malware. It just depend on how easy it is for the attacker to create a virus and the benefits it will get (Market share)

I finally got around to updating my Ubuntu to 13.10. It was on 13.04 but I had switched video cards and it was giving a fit to boot and upgrade while in the operating system so I downloaded the latest version of Ubuntu and got it upgraded that way. Almost forgot how fast it is.
