A few years back I bought a reel type mower ( I believe it's an A402B, it definitely will do a  30" cut ) to go with my Huski DeLux, and the pics below show the hitch the previous owner had on it. He didn't know what it mounted to, and subsequently, I've fabricated the proper snap-hitch.  Anybody know what tractors this old hitch goes with ?  If it can be identified, I'll put it in the classifieds and hopefully it can find a new home and even better end up as a trade for a tension handwheel to make my new hitch complete.

Its a hitch for a front mount attachment on a Versa-Matic

Those two bars underneath have me a bit confused though..... Do they look homemade to you? I dont recall ever seeing one of those hitches with those 2 steel bars welded under it.

Wouldn''t those be for bolting it to the plate on top plate on the reel mower? If I took the quick hitch off the mower I've got it looks like it should bolt right on. Can't say for sure being I don't have one for a Versa-Matic though.

The tabs, which are 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1/8" angle steel give all appearances of being original to the mount.

I think I still have to go with "Homemade" at this point

I went through all my literature and cant find anything with those steel bars.

Maybe it's a super-rare, pre-production / prototype model !! :rolling:

Could have been added by the factory, Dealer, Home owner ect.

When these were being made there seemed to still be alot of experimenting going on in which things were changed on the fly frequently

I seem to remember seeing one of those hitches with the angles underneath, but I can't remember what it was for.

That style hitch also fit some Ride-A-Matics, so it may have been for an attachment for them?????
