Like I was needing something else to work on, but I just brought this home the other day, It's a 1979 (last year made) Volkswagen Bus!

I've been wanting one for a while, happened to come across this one for a good cheap price so I couldn't pass it up.

It has the 2000cc engine (big engine for a VW) It's in overall good condition, it has some rust but nothing major. Engine turns over with spark, it fires on carburetor cleaner but it needs a fuel pump.

Hoping to have it running in a couple weeks

I remember them well, are you missing the VW plate on the front. Those are very hard to find reasonable. I had two Beetles always fun to drive except for the winter  :(

Always liked the VW Bus. Had a couple over the years one was a Camper model.
Thanks for the fond memories.

Thanks,

Hoping to paint it red and white, although flowers would be another way to go :smilewink: :peace:

I already have a 74' super beetle and I love it, I can't wait to get this bus on the road :dancingbanana:

I bet I could get a gt in it, there is a fair amount of room in there, but I'm going to try and not haul anything like that in it, I don't want to do anything to damage anything. I'm hoping to restore it over time, but it's going to be a slow process.

Yes it is missing the VW on the front, I'm going to half to find one someplace.

Maybe I better search the bus really well before I have the sheriff inspect it, :wallbanging:     :D    :bigrofl:

By the time we got to Woodstock we were half a million strong..............

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Woodstock.

That's a great song!

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=1sH0uR2u7Hs

(lyrics)

Well, I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, Tell where are you going?
This he told me

Said, I'm going down to Yasgur's Farm,
Gonna join in a rock and roll band.
Got to get back to the land and set my soul free.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

Well, then can I walk beside you?
I have come to lose the smog,
And I feel myself a cog in somethin' turning.
And maybe it's the time of year,
But then maybe it's the time of man.
And I don't know who I am,
But life is for learning.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

By the time we got to Woodstock,
We were half a million strong

And everywhere was a song and a celebration.
And I dreamed I saw the bomber jet planes
Riding shotgun in the sky,
Turning into butterflies
Above our nation.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are caught in the devils bargain,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

I had one in the mid 70's.  The ex got it in the settlement (because I wanted it) and tore it up so bad.  I wouldn't mind having one again.
