After drilling the hole I discovered the changed location messes with the linkages. Grrr...

Adding this into the mix as a possible way to deal with the challenges of the Deere driveshaft.

Was doing some reading of your project and saw this about your driveshaft.  I actually did this modification to my cub 149.  It works great and is easy to remove for any maintenance issues.  Take a look.  It starts at page 18  post #259

Great stuff Mark!  I will keep that in mind and think the original Deere shaft can be adapted to use those type of joint.  I appreciate the work you have in that thread.
