What was your first garden tractor. Mine was a 725 simplicity. It came with a front blade  and the tiller. Got it from my uncle. He said to take it to the scrap yard, because the lawn mower shop said it wasn't serviceable anymore. The only thing wrong was a blown head gasket. Got that fixed and it runs like a champ. Had it for close to 7 or 8 years now.

Cool Simplicity good to save it from the junk yard.

My first was a Deere 110 Transmission broke so it was scrapped many years ago.

My first real garden tractor was a Gravely 5260.  That's my buddy.

I just realized I don't have a picture of it.  That will be corrected.

Mine was an M.T.D., got it back in the 1970's to do the lawns. Wasn't really into GT.'s then. It had a 5hp. motor in it but I swapped it out for an 8 hp. It'd cut everything I put it to, even buckbrush, prairie grass and gopher hills, lol.

I still have my first garden tractor, well sort of. It belongs to my son now. Its a 1952 Standard (Bantam) that my dad gave me in 1982. I recentley restored it, and gave it to my son Danny on his 7th birthday. Here is a pic of it from my childhood, and a pic of it after being restored.

Bolens 800 that we inherited when my MIL passed and we moved here to Oberlin, OH. It's the tractor that started my addiction.

My FIL had passed some 25 years previously, and a neighbor had been mowing the yard for the MIL for all those years.

I needed a mower and room to store it but the garage was packed FULL. In the front was a 77 Sears 14/6 which I gave away just to make room for the new mower, a CC LTX 1045, which is not a GT.

While removing other stuff from the garage, I found WAY back in the corner a 1964 Bolens 800 with a front blade, which I dragged out to get running for snow duties. I didn't get it ready for the winter, but eventually did get it running. I also found a Brinly Dump Attachment for it as well.

Here are a couple of vids of it.

Walk around:

Running (not real well) with a front reel mower attachment:

My first one and and the one that started everything is my Massey MF12G. I still have it and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. I bought it approximately 5 years ago off ebay because we moved to a place with a little more yardage than what I wanted to mow with a push mower.

You guys won't believe this but my first GT was a modern one. A JD x475! I later traded it for a compact tractor but then got the bug for the older GT's. Next was an MF8 which is really an  LT. After that a JD314 was the first older GT

My first "garden" tractor was a 1969 JD 140 H1:

Sold it after a few years to move on tho other projects.  ~~  Lowell
