So I was looking over the first pics you posted of this massey and noticed the rubber steering grommet is missing on yours. Have any idea if you can still get them from a massey dealer or what you will use?

Somewhere on here, there was a discussion about it. Here's a place that has is: http://www.yesterday...ommet_26920.htm I'm not sure that this is the only place that has it.

The owner's son said that it smoked (I did not see any when I drove it, though my clothes smelled like it was), and it does not have good compression, so I will give it a complete rebuild. The transmission seems fine, but I will rebuild it as well.

Hello Rob,

Thanks for asking! Not really. I haven't had much time lately. Here is the most recent picture. I did soak one of the MANY parts in apple cider vinegar to remove the rust (thanks to GTpicker01 for interesting me in the apple cider vinegar method). It worked pretty good, but the part slightly rusted again (I either left it in the vinegar too long, or should have coated it with something to keep it from rusting). It works great for removing the heavy rust.

The best way is to not treat whether dipping, blasting etc. more parts than you can clean & prime the same day or better asap.. You will always get flash rust on bare metal after treating. Your coming along nicely.

Thanks! I think that's what happened (flash rusted) to the piece I soaked in vinegar.

Hey Gabriel (or any massey people)

Ever seen lights like this on the front grill of a massey? They're on mine and i can't figure out what the heck they're for.

Not factory, that's for sure.  I figure somebody just wanted to dress her up with the blue color effect backgrounding the grill.

It's a shame that there aren't many in your area. If you really would like to have one, then I hope you are able to find one someday!
