I will be replacing all new & update all connectors. Not a lot of expense compared to the assurance that all is well.

Same here, unless it's a component that's buried deep in the bowls

of the machine, looks suspect, and would require lots of effort to

get it out when/if it fails.

Of all the machines I've wrenched, only one had wiring that didn't look like

Bob Marley's hair. I always replace that stuff. Avoids grief down the road.

I need some advise on how to fix this. Thanks!

I am slow in seeing this, but I have a grill for an MF12H.  Cheap plus shipping.  If you are interested, send me a PM.

I think the MF 7, 8, 10 & 12 had Tecumseh engines. I do know that the MF 14 and 16 came from the factory with Kohler engines.

There are several ways to resurrect that engine. Overnight solutions has a drop in replacement, Ed Stoller has directions for conversion to GM? electronic ignition, member Tahoe had a friend do a conversion to a Kohler pickup of some kind. Lots of options.

Hmm that's interesting. I've heard the conversion to the vehicle ignition. I think I might investigate the conversion to the kohler pickup a little more.

Good looking 12. It's got the sleeve hitch, tin is straight, wheel weights... Well worth bringing back to life.
Do a little site searching on the names I mentioned above and see if any of them strike your fancy. Ask questions too.

I just got it the week before thanksgiving. So I haven't had it very long. I've been kept busy with my wheel horse so as soon as that's done I'll get this thing going.
