Where might I find the cover that goes over the end of the starter? Are new ones available?

I think that the cover is part of the flywheel cover and is spot welded into place. At least it is on my motor.

It looks like it may have had the starter replaced, so maybe someone removed it when they did the update. By the way Chad, when I looked at your Massey 14 restoration pictures, I could not find a picture of your original Kohler engine. Is there one?

I just double checked its there in the massey gallery. Its on the second page of the massey gallery. I have a picture of both sides of the engine sitting in the bench. If you need any more help let me know!

Here is a picture update. These are the new parts I've gotten so far. One of the pictures is of a decal that I'm having made.

Depending on how well you want it to look. I would try to find a replacement or at least replace the screen with something close. Does the hole effect the ribs or is it between them ?

I think that is the wrong screen, the ones I've seen on the 14, 16 tractors are much coarser, 1/4" +/- holes in them seems to be what they have and the holes are squared a bit, not round.

It almost looks like expanded metal lath.

Is it possible this is a screen out of a 10-12?

If you paint everything black in the engine bay you don't even need the screen, it'll look OK

The air flow goes forward on the 14, 16 tractors, comes out at the front.

My 76 MF14 had the tiny holed screen like that.

AGCO parts books show 2 different part #s 72 to 74 and 75 to 76, hard to tell what the hole size is in the pictures.

This is what was on my 16s

This 14 looks like small holes

This 14 looks like big holes.
