Does anyone know a wire mesh that approximates the engine compartment mesh on a 66 chief 1000?  Mine is missing.  Thanks

I can't say what the mesh used is exactly, but I know just about any type of heavy-gauge expanded metal mesh would work and look fine. The mesh cut-outs were pretty crude right from the factory so you can use a tin-snip or other type of shear to cut them to fit the opening when you find a usable material. I have some tractors with the original mesh, and some with homemade and it is pretty much impossible to notice the difference. The mesh openings should be big enough to fit the fastening bolts and prop-rod through. Hope this helps!

I don't know if it's original, or even exactly what year it is.

I have a closed side and the mesh looks like standard perforated sheet steel, 1/16" thick, 1/4" holes, painted black
