Added a couple new to me's over the weekend , a 67/68 tubeframe with a 7 1/2 briggs starts and runs when jumped with a mower deck this is the black one in the following pics the white one is a frankenbolens from the git it's a 1050/1053 frame with a H16 hood of later stickering with a HH160 ohv techumseh which is the same motor as my 73 H16 has , the engine cranks but have not put gas to it to see if it fires but it has compression and the starter sounds good so we will see where that leads us the tires are good and they both need some TLC but found in a scrapyard in MH81's territory for $150.00,that's Priceless :smilewink: Bolens01-11-2014-005R.jpg Bolens01-11-2014-002R.jpg Bolens01-11-2014-001R.jpg Bolens01-11-2014-003R.jpg Bolens01-11-2014-004R.jpg . not to bad for seeing them while out on deliveries the black one was standing on it's nose when i found them and decided to rescue the poor critters

Nice save. You got both of them at a great price too. The black one looks like it's a 650 or 750 and hopefully the 16 hp engine will run for you, even if it doesn't you will still have a good source of parts for your H16.

Nice Finds,

Looks like they have been used and abused but still have signs of life.

The black one is a 750

i didn't think of the 750 that would explain the 7 1/2 horse engine DUH!

well despite the pics the 750 is in very good condition +runs+charges+95% complete = great deal. only thing missing is one blade on the deck only bad thing front tires off the bead so don't know how good they really are. even the freewheel pin is unmolested and works and it's tab isn't broken off like most of my other tubeframes :smilewink:

the only missing part on the 750's engine i found is so common i could kick myself . the governor spring which is a $5 part at the store and i have 2/3 engines in various states of disrepair that i can snatch one from but don't want to get frostbite trying to install it with no heat in my shelter so it will wait for slightly warmer weather . so this may sound stupid but i guess i will go icefishing this week end cause at least i can keep my shanty warm with a lantern :smilewink:

ahhhhh warmer weather, somewhat, have the governor spring on hand and the deck parts are on order (getting them from doc) and a new clutch/brake lining too and that old black beast will be mowing again . the other one in the pics , i have found has compression and spark but needs a plug and a good carb cleaning and may run but who knows about the drivetrain so off with the seat and lookilou the tranny for broken and damaged gears and such is the next go round so some pics may be coming of switching the 16 over to the other 1050 and go like the devil

Geez, you seem to be doing well with them. Not bad for a couple of rescue units.
Let me know if the 16 is not sticking around.

well i should have taken some pics of the 750 working considering in low range 1st gear a snail could beat it down the 1/8 mile but she pulls my garden trailer good enough and starts way better than even my JD which is 17 years newer :smilewink:
