My hubs do not look like that. Do both of them look like that? Do you have a manual?  If not, google gravely manuals and you will see a site with free manuals.

The hub has had the keyway "buggered" up. Thats the technical term :D. I have read about what you are seeing as being a common problem with those types of hubs. I only have a L8 so I am not familiar with your problem and how to fix it. I think I read that you can replace the hub or have a new keyway braoched in. The other tractor site has a big gravely group that can give you specifics on the repair.

I see you done some work on the 812. Did you get a new muffler or did you paint it? Different rear wheels & tires, engine cleaned and all spiffed up. New plug, & points? New fuel filter and fuel line?  You put the deck on, I see the deck is the newer style. Shes coming along good. Its good to see someone breath new life into a good older tractor.  Good work Kevin

The hubs are tight now. The clutches are good got to two more if needed but have to rebuild them first.
