Just got this yesterday, UPS was a little rough to it and the seller just laid it in a box with no packing material :wallbanging:  Looks like I have some gluing and wood work to do as a couple dings and scratches are now in it.  :(

Here's the pics from the listing

It lights up in the center where the blade goes and it has a scroll that turns.

The artwork on the paper scroll is in bad shape and was taped by someone. I will have to get more material and reproduce the artwork to get it to function again.

When working Properly the scroll moves the paper making the grass appear to mulch under the deck. One of the neatest things I've seen. The words also change describing the mulching process :D

I guess I'll have to make a restoration thread for this later on :D

Just couldnt pass up this piece of history! This mulching design is still used today on most push mowers.

Nice find. Sorry the shipping didn't work out well. Maybe contact the seller and ask about how he packed it before you make a claim with UPS. Maybe he will 'offer' in good conscious some kind of 'adjustment'. Never hurts to look into it.

Yep, we already worked it out. Got a partial refund

Cant really blame UPS on this one, fragile sign, no packing material packed in a loose flimsy box is asking for trouble....

Anyone know what kind of material I can buy to reprint the graphics?

This appears to be some metallic like paper that was painted over.

Its got to be heat resistant as the bulb is right behind the paper.

I was thinking take photos of the graphics and clear it up in photoshop then print it out.

I think regular paper will catch on fire though

The seam was just clear taped originally by the looks of it.

I am pretty sure Daniel has reproduced decals, he might be able to help with what you could print it on.

How big is the bulb? If you think about lampshades some are made of paper like material, so normal paper might be ok.

Disclaimer: If you use paper and it catches on fire, causing your entire collection of everything bolens I may not be held responsible.

Its only about 5'' long

I should plug her in and let it sit a few minutes to see just how much heat comes off it.

Back in the day I had a friend that worked for Reynold's Aluminum, Co. and he was in their specialty plastics division. They made printable plastics for this very thing. You may want to check a sign making company in your area (those places that can do auto body wrap, magnetic signs, etc. for illuminate plastic printing. They may be able to reproduce the art or at least get you safe material to work with.

Sign lighting bulbs ranged from 35W to 65W for this kind of signage. See if you can find a wattage rating of the socket. Generally, that will tell you what the max wattage could be used.

Good luck.
