if you is jumping out of gear - you need to replace the spring and ball on the shifting forks

you should replace the both springs and ball in each shifting forks

you can get the springs and balls from Deere

the last time I got them the springs are around $3.00 each and the ball about the same price

if you need any gears let me know - I have several gears available I can send you

If I remember right it should around 2 quarts

most use 85w-90 and some use the 85w-140

the ones that use the 85w-140 say it rans quieter, but is you are in areas that stay below freezing for long periods of time I would use the 85w-90

the manual for the peerless is in the manual section on this site

there three manuals there that will help you a lot

Tecumseh Technican's Handbook Tecumseh/Peerless 2300 Series Parts List Tecumseh/Peerless 2300 Transmission Repair
