I think it is called the polar plunge, where people go swimming in Lake George on the first, maybe it is New Years Eve? I don't know, but it's cold when they do it and they go in with summer style swimwear!

Yep the polar plunge, polar bear plunge, etc. They do this to surf, catch waves, hang ten, cause they miss California/Hawaii. The polar bear plunge doesn't involve a surfboard, but it does often involve a costume, water wings, inner tube, or a rubber duck. lol

uh yeah, but this video has nothing to do with the polar plunge. I don't understand why comments are about the polar plunge, its a surfing video. Are you guys viewing the right link? Maybe I got it wrong.

Yeah, the surfing link showed... But it's close enough in concept to the plunge to understand the cross over..

The polar plunge has been going on for years... They just added a surf board. D set suits.
I was a kid when i remember seeing a guy on the news doing it at 100 yrs old.
