Ok, here goes. Snapper 1650 key switch I think finally gave up the ghost. Needing to snow plow NOW! Can someone tell me the quickest easiest and safest way to hot wire it just to start? Yes this is embarrassing to ask because I've overhauled these small engines but electrical isn't my thing.

Stupid Question! Hot Wire.

key in the run position, jump the solenoid with a screwdriver, or jump directly to the starter, The first way is better, but the 1650 solenoid is a little hard to get to

If it's a mag style ignition, disconnect the mag grounding wire and jumper from the batt pos post to the starter.

If it is magneto ignition, just unplug the ignition switch and jump voltage to the starter.

Thanks so much guys, got her going and done. This is all I think I can do. That really stings on the face and a mask just fogs my glasses. I have a new appreciation for the "Northerners"! You guys are tough.
Smear Crisco on your face, body temp will warm the oil and keep you warm, us Indians use bear grease, but it's hard to find outside of Indian Territory
