What engine would work best to repower this tractor?

What do you plan to do with it? will you need factory style PTO's?

That is a pretty rare collector tractor. A 310 or 410 might be a better choice as both of those are HI-Low 6 speeds with a lot more pulling power. The 14 hp kohler is cheap to rebuild and has plenty of power for that tractor. It wont be cheap if your going to re-power, diesels or a v twin cost a bundle, 600-800 would be getting off cheap just for the engines, unless your going Harbor Freight cheap. BTW if your not going to use the lift rod guide or snow plow brackets attached to the frame, I would like to buy them. A 10 hp single cylinder air cooled diesel or a 16 hp briggs or kohler V-twin would be the obvious choices.

I agree

X2...I'm drooling from MI.  A 314H is my unicorn.  What's your price? :smilewink:   I'll get going on arranging a pick-up.

No harm done, there are some tractors even i will not modify, glad you asked the question before hand.

In the end it is your tractor, you got a offer on it which shows it's rarity.
