I just got the phone notification that the school district here is closed for Monday due to a predicted high of - 12, and a low of -18 F, with winds chills in the - 50 F range.   Funny thing is that tomorrow is gonna be warm, at  + 34 F.   Strange.

There are a lot of happy kids in Minnesota. At my daughters school they tried holding back until 7th hour to break the news, but most knew by 3rd hour. Talk of school closings Tuesday too. We will see.

We are gonna be below zero AGAIN and the wind is gusting over 60mph right now at about 15*

Our first blizzard this season was October 4th so I am ready for spring now---no wait i'm ready for summer!

I know it is worse in some places , but man, this is goofy cold for the southeast corner of WI, even next to a huge lake sitting at +36..  Never got above -12 here, and this evening dropping to -18, or whatever. Schools are closed again tomorrow, for most of the state.  At least we have the latter part of the week to look forward to, a few days in the mid plus 30's. Yay!

The weather is ALL extremes these days.  Last couple summers have been insanely hot, & now this brutally cold winter.  Making it hard to look forward to any season.  Spring usually brings extremely terrible storms.  I yearn for average weather.

I kinda remember back about 15-20 years ago we had several winters like this. But for the last 10, it has been relatively mild for us.

It is cold enough here that my 100 foot extension cord that I run the shop off of was stiff as a board when my neighbor wanted to borrow it. Ever try to move a 100 foot long pole?
