Bad thing about the older huski tag Bolens usely just put the serial number of the tractor on it but you may get lucky and the model may be on it to I seen both ways. Post a photo of the tractor two some guys here can just date it by its looks.

how do i figure out the year?
One of the 12A's I have has a serial # H8757 with an engine build date of March 1947. I would think yours is a early 47' or maybe even a late 46'. Some time in 47' they changed the handle bars, the engine plate and rear attachment hitch. Yours is the older version which also has a cast alum. engaging lever (newer ones had a clamp around the pipe to mount the lever verses a pin welded to the handle bars) and alum. idler pulley.
If you decide to repower it make sure you use an engine with a 6 to 1 gear reduction other wise you'll be running after it.
