i was the winning bidder of what was listed as a David Bradley walk behind. Well i picked up the "DB" today, turns out its a Bolens Huski, unsure model, it has no engine, and rims are junk as is one tire. So here goes the part y'all are gonna hate me for lol. I'm thinkin about putting a Harbor Freight engine on it and fabricate mounts for implements. Is that gonna get me tarred and feathered?

Welcome to the forum. I'd say you have a plan if all you want to do i make a worker for your garden. Maybe post some pictures of what you have and someone can I.D. it for you. There has been an original Briggs BR6 engine for the Huski Gardener on Ebay.

There's nothing wrong with keeping old iron running. At least it's not being scrapped. I prefer not to modify something to the point I can't return it to original though. Just in case. Mount up the new motor and put him to work.  I have a Harbour Freight motor on one of my DBs and I love it. Starts really easy and pulls good. I have another tractor the same model with the original engine but, the one with HF motor is my main "go to" tractor.

Good luck on the project and post some pix!

Welcome to GTT. Relax and enjoy the site. Check out the "Manuals Section" and "Galleries" for ideas. Good Luck, Rick

Sounds like a good plan to me, you aren't sending it to scrap and when you are done you have something useable.  A good friend has a DB with a Harbor Freight engine on it, it is his go to tillage tractor and is used on a regular basis.

You won't get tarred & feathered here.  Some cringe a bit when the torch comes out, but to make it so you can use it reliably is fine with me.  Most of my "modified" tractors I build so they could easily be put back to stock.  You may want to build this that way just for the "what if" factor.  If an item has already been hacked on all over, such as my Bush Hog tractor I named "Hogzilla", then it really doesn't matter much either way.  It's yours, so just have fun with it.

So your the the one who won that I spyed it and knew they had it listed wrong and it went out out of line on price by me. Its a older bolens Power ho the numbers should be on the Tag.   I think if you do it all right you will not have to cut on the tractor maybe drill a hole or two for engine boilts.
