Looking at acquiring 14 xx series bolens with cab snowblower cutting deck chains and original literature. Won't go into reverse or 1st. What am I looking at $$ to get old girl running like she should? Engine runs great. Thanks for help

Its a tubeframe but I cant tell from the pictures if its Hydrostatic or Gear driven

They made a bunch of these tractors and parts are plentiful.

 

After reading your first post again, if it has a "1st gear" then its most likely a Geardriven model. You can find spare transmissions  pretty easily on Craiglist or ebay without "Breaking the bank"

Thanks for info picking it up this weekend. I guess it will be first vintage one for me. But have 8 vintage snowmobiles. So guess it's in the blood.

I'm guessing that it is a gear drive It was in the original post that 1st and Reverse didn't work.

Just off the cuff in my area if lucky a used transmission would cost $75 and a day's labor to change out. this could cost more just depends on what you can find used. New would more than likely price it out of range.

You could get lucky and find a bent shifting fork in the existing transmission and get away without much out of pocket expense it just depends on your level of experience.
That looks like a decent machine to me.

I suspect that it is a G14. You can download the manuals for it from our manuals section. 3 free per day. Those are heavy duty tractors. Good Luck, Rick
