Well i dont know weather to stay home and listen to "the talk" from my wife or go out, i woke up to 1 inch of ice on everything and its still coming down, really miserable, wet and slippery.the reason i am in the dog house is because i put her car outside and my wheelhorse 520 project in her parking spot in the garage, how many times have you used the excuss, "its only for a little while", i might as well put on some skates and go out to the car and see if i can even get the doors open, i know she wants to go shopping this morning and if those doors dont open i might as well keep skating down the road. ha ha ha !!!! happy holidays all farmer john

An inch of ice should mean that you both stay inside and hope the power doesn't go out. Don't let her go out in those conditions. We had a woman killed last year when a branch with ice on it dropped on her car as she drove down the road. 8 years ago we had an ice storm, I went out to check on an elderly neighbor. When I came back, I slipped. Laid me up for 6 weeks and I still have to sleep in a chair. Good Luck, Rick

In the future put a tarp over her car when its left out.

Oh boy....Sounds like you hav ea lot of time ahead of you, with a heat gun in hand.  Best get that car thawed, quick!  I have a bout 3/8" on everything.  We don't typically get ice, and it's pretty amazing, and extremely annoying.

All joking aside, as long as you don't suffer any damage, the ice may have saved you a lot of money today, by keepoing her home, and away from the mall.

I wouldn't venture too far. I've been listening to the 'crack & thump' of limbs falling since yesterday!

Tell her you did her a favor.  In case it started getting icy the car would be frozen and so she couldn't go anywhere so she would be safe and she could spend some time with you working on the WH project. :rolling:

When our big ice storm hit a few years back, it was eerrily silent outside, with nothing but the sounds of splitting/crashing tree limbs, and WHOLE trees coming down.  It destroyed the forests.....and our fences.

Please DO NOT get out on ice covered roadways.

We are getting mostly snow here in Northern Michigan. Got just a little bit of ice yesterday but not much. Supposed to snow all day until 6:00 pm.. Plowed and blowed about 6" of snow yesterday from Fridays storm. Dish local channels are out at this time. Hope they come on by the time of the Lions game later. All those affected stay safe and be careful driving. Roger.

You must be a lucky man ! My wife ,half Hungerian the other half Greman/Irish would have thrown the tractor out into the yard piece by piece as soon as the rain started to freeze lol

Yep, you saved her from having an accident and hurting herself/others AND the car.

Be sure to tell her that, then let us know how it works out for you! :poke:

I would just love to punch the guy that decided drip rails were unnecessary on vehicles.  Had to use a screw driver to pry the doors open on the "winter car" this morning.

My rule is not to go on the roads if there is freezing rain. It's the worst possible weather for driving! You can tell her I said so!

As said, you did her a favour.

How'd you make out with the car anyway?

Thawed out yet?

We'll go with the standard 24 hour rule procedure: 24 hours and no response, we take it for granted his wife shot him and buried him in a snow bank. No calling dibs on his GT's for one week.

That's awful compassionate of you, but up here we work with the metric system, and I'm

not obligated to wait a week. As soon as I get the trailer dug out of the snow bank, I'm

heading that way. If I hurry, I can get most of them before your week is up. :D
