For those of us who participate in the Christmas Holiday, I thought a thread with your trees, neighbors decorations, your decorations, etc would be nice. Been meaning to drive around town and take some pics, but for now: my parents 9' tall Tree with some of Mom's Christmas Village in the background.

Very nice idea Alan.  Figures this would be the year I didn't put up a tree.  I could not find an old photo either.  Guess I'll enjoy yours.

Thanks Alan, that's nice. I bet you played with your Hot Wheels in the Village

when you where a boy.

Is that a set of split wheel weights, below the vents, in the fireplace?

No, it's an antique grinding wheel that was on the property, broken. It sat around forever until they decided to build the fireplace.

Here is one of our meager little tree. It's a 'Synthetic Tree Simulation' but we have to have live trees treated with flame retardant in the boro.

I also asked KK to take a few pics on the way home. Just the houses that are a 3 or above on the 'Griswald Scale'
The ones with fewer lights are the houses with some animation... That doesn't come across well in pictures.

Oh, and the one with the cutout carolers, they have a sound system playing Christmas Carols.

We normally have a large light display at our house, have had one for 20+ years. This year due to being gone for over 10 days this close to Christmas we don't have one. We do have the tree up and decorated at least. We usually have over 30,000 lights and about 12 displays. I like daytime dave, will just have to enjoy the ones you guys post on here. Thanks. Roger.

With the exception of three, the rocks all came from the farm. My Dad and I spent about two weeks one year gathering up hard heads from the old rock piles and beating sledges off them. The vents and the seat/hearth are slices we took from old cut sandstone blocks and the brick is from the old chimney that was right up thru the center of the house. The mantle is from the old Barn and so are the boards.

The light you see in the pic is a yoke for a team. Oxen, I believe.

No tree this year, as Opi, the black kitten has just joined the family , and we know from experience that kittens and Christmas trees mix with poor results, lol. Olde Deere #2 finished her 'snow family' at the end of our road, and they will be our Christmas decoration for this year.

Both of these pics are from 2012. Haven't had time for pictures yet this year. 2013 is the 41st year we have used that fake tree. Mom bought it new for Christmas, 1972. I didn't dig out the little tree for the shop this year.
