Mine is simply the name of a once popular tractor in England.  My neighbor (old time tractor dealer) used to get them in on trade every once in a while.  Something attracted me to them.  They were a nice machine.  Anyway, it seemed to be a better choice than Charlie Brown for a tractor forum.

Mine is more of a tongue in cheek name. An older fellow sales rep used to call me Scott A Culbreth Senior.......the joke is I have 3 daughters so I will never be a senior....SACSR just stuck along the way....

Mine came from my work. I specialize in a unique feild of refrigeration and cryogenics. At work I am introduced as the "freezer guy", I dont like that as much as "The Cold ONE". I have tried to get them to refer tome as the "Freezer overlord" but they didnt like it.  :D

I first started messing with forums while I was restoring my Farmall Super A.  I gave that as my username.

The Ben part I really can't explain, its too complicated.

David Brown tractors are still popular up here as well. I think they were sold by the Case dealer network. My cousin has one that belonged to my grandfather. I think it's a 990!

Mine is just obvious. JD for the green tractor I had at the time I started and my name.

Yeah, Case bought them out and they became Case David Brown for a while, then the David Brown name was phased out.  Just doing my part to keep the past alive!

My usual User name in forums & such has historically been MOOman but it was taken when I joined a forum a few days ago..  (**Seems to be a lot of farmers that take that one??)   :(

So there I sat, thinking about what the heck could I come up with that nobody else would ever take??  OK-  WNYMOOMAN??  Taken! :(  NY MOOman??  Taken!! :wallbanging:   And this went on for a bit until I got fed up with the MOO-variations I tried kept slapping me in the face!  I needed to invent a new alias!!!

So...  WNY-->   is for some reason I can't remember..

Tractor-->  is one of my favorite 4-wheeled toys/tools

Tinker-->  Is what I do with almost every tool, appliance, vehicle or what not I encounter that doesn't work..  (Sometimes I even fix them too!)

Thus the name was born!

And guess what!!  Nobody else in cyber-land had laid claim to it!!  :firejumper:

When I first got n the web back in the 90's, I drove an ,87 K5 Blazer, my screen name was always a version of that, k5blazer8, Blazer87, blazer, etc. Kept it until I bought the '99 Tahoe in 2007, now I use some version of that, noramly just TAHOE, but also TAHOE99.

Some user name are self-explanitory and mine is one of them.

My user name is my FCC Amature Radio Call Sign.

It is a "vanity" call sign, as I requested my my initials.....Ken Alan Smith...also easier for me to remember, HaHa

KC9KAS is the 1 and only call sign in the world, and it will be mine as long as I want to keep it, and even if I relinquish it, it will be unusable for 10 (I think) years.
