I like the idea!  My opinion is "with tractors" would be better,  but either way sounds fun.  I don't generally go more than a couple hours drive from home but could go farther.   Being a truck driver I pretty much get my fill of steering wheel holding and trips lose some appeal because of that.

Another option is a meeting within another already established show.  This is how the Gravely club does their annual "Mow-In".

An area of the show grounds is set aside just for the Gravelys.  Mow-In's are held in a different location every year so everyone has a chance to attend at least some years without a 2000 mile drive.

While I'm thinking of it, the 34th annual "Macon County Flywheel Reunion"  Macon, Missouri  is featuring garden tractors in 2014.  Dates are July 24-26 2014 at the fairgrounds on the south edge of town right off HWY. 63.   This is a well run show that treats exhibitors right.

I like the idea and I think having members bring tractors would be good too. You could set up small workshops for people to work with other people repairing them.

If you need any help with organizing something like this, maybe talk to the guys over at Farmallcub.com . The members there hold a lot of events all across the country at different times of the year.

I like the idea. And I would have to bring a tractor or two or four.

I think a show & shine would be the way to go and get more participation.

Well it sounds like there is enough interest, so now I guess we should take a poll to see which part of the season suits best, Spring, Summer or Fall?

Would be helpful too, to know if we must pick areas that have Motel's near by, as I know some members will not want to sleep in a tent. I'll list an option for guys wanting to bring campers, just so we can get a feel of just how much land will be needed for all of us. Most likely won't be any type of hooks up available, so you should plan on being self contained.

I also listed the option for tractors, just to see how great the interest would be, even though I'm pretty sure the decision to bring tractors is mandatory.

Maybe some of the members could get a hold of the local clubs to see if we could use the show grounds for the meeting.

I'll let the poll go for two weeks, tally up the votes, write down the suggestions, and then go from there. Thanks guys for the interest, and I really hope this works out for us!

Maybe some of the members could get a hold of the local clubs to see if we could use the show grounds for the meeting.

I would say it would be pretty easy to get a county fairgrounds for this type of thing. Or a better bet might even be privately owned campground. I know of one that would be perfect about an hour from me (near Natural Bridge, Ky). Plenty of flat grassy field surrounded by beautiful Kentucky hills.

Couldn't you just imagine this campground filled with GT instead of Jeeps!!

Would the owners be upset to see the campground grass cut and possibly a few "garden plots" plowed for them? Lol

LOL, grass cut I don't think would be a problem... plowed garden plots probably wouldn't be too popular!

A campground sounds good if they wouldn't charge for members coming in for the day that aren't staying there . The ones I've been  to charge as much as $10 a person a day .  Our township rents areas for picnics and reunions and I'm sure others do too . Keep the ideas coming !

So the way I read this, Troy is volunteering to arrange everything, right? :D

We kind of already do this regionally, don't we?  The Ball Hollow plow day, PA plow day, the Dover PA show, and a couple of Midwest shows I remember reading about attract a few dozen members each.  I do think it would be a great idea to do something just for GTTalk though.

Thing is, if you have a GTtalk gathering at another event, it attracts new members.
