I have a Gravely  Garden Tractor that will not run I want to know if the  ENM hour meter will stop the tractor from starting it makes a clicking sound every few mins.  when key is on run position and dial is not rotating. I have checked all the safety switches, fuses, and fire.

First off Welcome to GTtalk. Does the engine spin over but doesn't fire to start? Do you have 12 Vt at the coil? Have you checked and cleaned the points?

Welcome to the forum!

We're talking about the starter motor not spinning, correct?

Have you jumped the solenoid?

Welcome! I've never seen an hour meter wired so that it would stop an engine from starting but you never know I guess! What does the plug look like after cranking it. Wet or dry. You could have a fuel problem. The points are another problem area. You say you have fire but is it timed correctly. It's simple to check the gap and condition of the points. The spark should be blue and snappy. The Kohler service manual is a big help if you don't already have it.

No, the hour meter will not keep the motor from running

If you provide the model/serial No. it will help some of the guys narrow down the tractor and engine therfor the problem, keep checking back in, great bunch here.

Hr. meter has nothing to do with the running of engine, sounds like it is broke, for the time being, disregard it, depending on the year of the tractor it could be replaced.
